The heavy a/c on my first floor

What is it about private school dorm halls that always makes them horrendously cold? As a private school student, I’ve visited over a dozen different dorm halls in our time, and as an alumni going to see the campus. Plus, a lot of my friends stayed in different dorms on campus, or at other schools. In total, I’ve been able to experience quite a few different residing scenarios. No matter which which school dorm I was at, there was one consistent trait: it was frigid in every single hall! I swear that the air conditioners must be set to max, or every single dorm room left the fridge door open… When I was a student at our alma mater, I had the same issue with the dorms on campus. Then usually had to sleep wearing a hoodie which isn’t certainly comfortable! I complained to the private schools administration about the chilly rapidly decreasing temperatures in the dorm halls, but they gave myself and my dorm mates the generic answer about “keeping costs low.” Unless it was certainly necessary, they were not running the furnaces. Then what is our large tuition payment going towards? I just don’t understand how it can be so extravagant to increase the temperature of the dorm. It doesn’t have to be blazing hot. They could make it bearable if they would only run the gas furnace for the building for two hours tops! I was so cheerful the year I moved out of the dorms, and stayed in an condo with a few friends for our last 2 years of private school.  Every one of us had total freedom to throw parties, kick back and relax – and best of all, every one of us could run the heating plan as much as every one of us wanted! My friends didn’t get frigid as unquestionably as I did, but they got over the increased heat in the condo pretty fast.
