They say the world makes mountains so we learn how to climb, and I am starting to hope that it is true as I try to climb this seemingly insurmountable mountain ahead of me.
- Taking the artistic path in life can be a difficult one as you leave the comfort and security of a normal home life.
I chose not to have kids and not to do the nine to five, but choosing that has put some difficulties in my life that I never saw coming. I am alone a lot more than my married HVAC tech friends and I don’t have the stability of a steady heating supplier paycheck every week, which can be really scary to most people. I do have some things that my married working friends don’t have, which includes very fun performances and some really cool original songs that our band has made so far. We play in air conditioned beach bars in the summer and in the ski resorts, heated by mainly fireplaces, during the winter. And this has given me some really cool experiences that I may otherwise have not experienced had I chosen the stable life of a working HVAC corp owner. I would have been locked into that job all of the time to support my three or four kids and wife and would probably feel that I was missing out on other things in life. I guess it is tough to have it all and that we all feel the pangs of emptiness in life for whatever reasons. Anyway, I wish you happiness in life regardless.
