My friend and I recently came to the conclusion that the great room in our home needs a wall-mounted heating, ventilation, and air conditioning component.
However, ever since my friend and I moved in three years ago, we have been experiencing problems with the great room’s heating and cooling system.
The great room has never had great indoor air quality, no pun intended. My friend and I have expressed worries about it both in the winter and the summer, and I believe the large windows that look out onto the backyard are to blame. Huge windows like those contribute to a slight yellow-apartment effect in the summer and cause the great room to heat up in the late afternoon. In the winter, my friend and I experience the opposite issue because by the time evening rolls around, it is hot and muggy inside. No one even wants to enter that room because it is always so cold in there. Unfortunately, because that is the best spot in the house for it, that is where I always want to put the Christmas tree up. A couple of weeks ago, I spoke with a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning technician. She told us that she would order us to install a wall-mounted ductless mini split heating and cooling system in that room. Before she mentioned them, I was not even aware that those existed. I’m willing to try anything at this point, so hopefully it works out for us! In a few weeks, my friend and I will have them come and install it for us.
