I took the number of the handyman that my neighbor uses.
He said there wasn’t anything that this guy couldn’t fix. This guy had great intentions and was just being a great neighbor. All of this came about after I got the news from the HVAC technician that I’d need to replace an expensive part. This HVAC repair would have to happen before the big load on the heat pump during the heat of summer. Last spring, as we do every spring, we had the HVAC technician out to do the air conditioning tune up on our HVAC unit. It’s about 15 years old but has always provided great quality heating and air. But last spring, the HVAC technician delivered the news that there was an expensive HVAC component that had to be replaced. Of course, nobody really wants to spend a bunch of money on something like HVAC equipment. At the same time, nobody wants to have the air conditioning stop working the first week in August. I had a bit of time last spring to think about alternatives. And that’s when I got the number for the handyman from my neighbor. I nearly called that guy to have him come out and give me an estimate. But I thought better of it after I asked my neighbor if he guaranteed his work. And of course, he didn’t. The handyman was also not a licensed, certified HVAC professional either. That’s pretty much all it took for me to call the HVAC company and have them come do the HVAC repair properly and with a guarantee.
