From the request of the director, I replaced it with a digital control component that would help with indoor comfort.
I had just arrived at the location when I found out it was a motion picture set. The crew was shooting at a particular auditorium and the AC unit had malfunctioned. The director said it was okay for the local repair provider to carry out a quality A/C repair on the AC unit while they shot their film. The camera crew would ensure the cameras did not capture me while I was working. The AC unit had been making weird noises before it eventually stopped working. As a result, the air quality was bad because the component was emitting hot air. When I arrived, I was assigned a person to help supply information about the component including the date of Heating and A/C installation. I started by examining the component and discovered a faulty part which I replaced. The Heating and A/C contractor that did the fitting had left a sticker on the unit, indicating the AC company he was from. I took time to analyze the cooling technology and not any changes that had to be made. While cleaning the system, I got a chance to check out the film. They were shooting a hospital scene. The actors looked injured, the makeup made the injuries look so real. While testing the climate control device, I noted that it was also not working. From the request of the director, I replaced it with a digital control component that would help with indoor comfort. As a qualified AC expert, it was my role at the Heating and A/C business, to recommend the purchaser on correct service of the unit. Two months later when the motion picture was released, I saw myself in it. It was not intended however it happened and I looked like I was meant to be an extra.
