Our neighbors told me the other day that they are going to be getting a divorce.
I can’t believe that they are finally doing it after all of these years, but I can’t really say that I’m all that surprised, either.
They fight all the time, and we can hear them all the way over here at our house. During the winter when the temperatures are cold outside, it’s not that much of a problem because all of the windows and doors are closed. However, during the summer when the weather starts heating up, they fight like crazy and we can hear them loud and clear. They always fight very passionately, and several times I thought about calling the police because they sounded like they were getting just a little bit carried away. Anyway, when they told me they were getting a divorce, I tried to act surprised. They said that one of the main reasons that they were calling it quits is because they can never seem to decide on the thermostat settings in their house. He said that she is always cold and she said that he is always hot. Between the two of them, I could barely get a word in edgewise, but I gathered that the thermostat settings were a big part of their marriage problems. I can’t help but feel like they should have invested in zone control heating and cooling years ago. It might have even saved their marriage. I guess some people just don’t know how to compromise. It’s sad because I always hate to see a marriage end in divorce.
