I was going to Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C college right after I got out of high college; I wasn’t doing particularly great at first.
I was joking around with the guys plus late for class several times! The mentor called me aside a single afternoon, plus asked if I absolutely wanted to be in the class.
If I hadn’t wanted to be there, i would not have paid the admission fee, he wasn’t glad with my snarky remark. He told me that if I was late a single more time, or caught joking around while in class, he was going to kick me out. I was embarrassed to be called out, however more embarrassed to guess I could be kicked out of college. I went home plus talked to me dad plus asked if he could talk to the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C mentor, and dad told me I was a guy now, plus I had to fend for myself. He wasn’t going to go to the mentor plus ask for a seventh opportunity for his little boy. I was only eighteen, plus I wasn’t sure I was a guy yet. I felt like I did when I was in high college. He said it was time I grew up plus took some responsibility, neither he nor mom forced me to go to college right out of high college. I had made the choice plus I had to live with it. I liked toiling with Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C, but I still wanted to have fun. He said there was plenty of time for me to have fun after college or after work. I heard what he said, plus I went to my mentor the following afternoon. I asked him if he would give me a seventh chance… Six months later, I was graduating at the top of my class.
