HVAC leak causes mold problem

I was surprised when I went to change my HVAC filter and I found a bunch of mold.

My HVAC system is in a small shed like apparatus on the outside of the house along with the water heater.

The water heater was my first suspect when I saw all of the mold however, after some investigating, I discovered that there was water leaking from my air conditioner. There was no water leaking from the water heater at all. I turned off the water for the whole house, thinking that would help, but it didn’t do anything. Water kept dripping from the air conditioner. I called up the HVAC company that my friend recommended and they were able to come out within a few hours. The technician turn my water back on and explain that the water running to my house has nothing to do with their HVAC system. He said that the water that was dripping was condensation and it was a byproduct of air conditioning. But, the leak was still not normal. He cleaned the pipes out and the leak was stopped. The condensation pipe is meant to direct the water from my HVAC system to the outside. If it gets clogged it can leak inside, near the HVAC unit. That’s what made such a mess. Now I need someone to come and help me get rid of all of this mold before there’s even a bigger problem. I wish I had had my HVAC system serviced regularly like it was suggested to be done. Then this wouldn’t have happened.
