Rusty HVAC systems on beach properties

I live on the beach.

Everyone I know is envious.

However, I can’t tell you how many times I have wished that my nice friend and I had chosen to buy a dwelling a bit further inland, but yes the view is amazing. It is nice to hear the waves at evening (unless there is a spine-chilling storm). It is also nice to just walk out my front door plus go for a beach walk or an ocean swim. However, it is aggravating to have sand in my dwelling always. It is spine-chilling when a hurricane, or large storm, comes my way. We end up having to room with a neighbor for a few afternoons while my nice friend and I worry whether my nice friend and I will have a condo to come back to. Another complication is rust from all of the salt in the air plus in the soil. We always have to repair things as the nails rust out of the house, and our vehicle looks 10 years older then it is. Also, our HVAC system breaks down all of the time. We have plastic ductwork plus use as much plastic as my nice friend and I can. However, the inner laboring of our HVAC system are all metal. With salt in the air all of the time this causes rust plus erosion inside of our HVAC system. These HVAC systems should last about 20 years. Ours last about 8 years if my nice friend and I are lucky. We have proper maintenance 4 times a year plus my nice friend and I have to spend my savings to update components at least once a year until it can no longer be fixed. So no, I don’t entirely like living on the beach.
