I called the HVAC company last week, because I wanted my ductwork cleaned.
My wife was seeing a lot of excess dust in the house, and with Christmas coming, we wanted the house to look and smell clean and fresh.
I told the person at the HVAC company that I wanted to get the ductwork cleaned, and the next thing I knew, they were talking about furnace service and repair. I had my furnace serviced two months earlier, and it was working well. I just wanted them to get rid of the dust in my house. She scheduled the ductwork cleaning, and said the HVAC technician would be there the day before the ductwork cleaners. I tried to tell her I didn’t need an HVAC technician, but she hung up before I had a chance. Tuesday morning, the HVAC technician showed up and said he was there to service my furnace. I told him he had already serviced my furnace a month earlier. He thought he remembered being here, and asked if there was a reason they had sent him. I told him I wanted the ductwork cleaned because of all the dust in the house. It would soon be Christmas and we had a lot of company coming. He said he would make sure the ductwork cleaners examined the ductwork for possible repairs, but other than that, as far as he was concerned, he was never there. I was glad he was being so nice, because I couldn’t afford to pay for HVAC service, when I hadn’t called to have it done.
