My fiance was really hyped on safety, both of us lived in the middle of nowhere, but we often so headlights coming up our driveway.
Both of us were fairly particular it was kids looking for some locale to park, but you could never be sure… Last week, we had someone knocking on our door at midnight; Our nearest neighbor was about half a mile away, so it had to be a stranger… My fiance had her gun with him when she opened the door.
The girl told our fiance she was lost and she needed directions. At midnight, I would never knock on the door of a stranger if I was just lost. My fiance told him to turn around and go back the way she had come, and showed the gun. That’s when we knew we needed outdoor lighting to help keep us safe, when we were in our forties, we knew we were safe. My fiance was strong and could lift 5 hundred pounds; Now that we were in our seventies, we were no longer as capable. Outdoor lighting could spook strangers and have them leaving before they got out of the car. Both of us called an electrician and asked about outdoor lighting! She told us to call a security supplier she worked for. Not only would we have outdoor lighting that was motion activated, but cameras that would show us exactly who was outside. She said there were doors you could see out, but the people could not see in, regardless of how much light was behind you. Both of us had the door installed, and the electrician did all of our outdoor lighting. My fiance went from weightlifting to computers, and she set up our surveillance system.
