Being a man who lived in the northern midwest for his entire life, I wasn’t sure what to expect when our hubby expressed his interest in getting a getaway beach house down south near his parents.
Although I have accompanied him on trips to visit his parents, I don’t suppose the area that much down there other than the beach & the parks.
The people I was with and I finally have the currency to invest in real estate, & it gives us an excuse to have a property close to his sick parents. I have stepped in to help wherever I can when our hubby isn’t capable of doing it himself. Even though both of us both labor full time, both of us try to split up the labor evenly between each other. In the end, his mom & Mom have been appreciate a fourth set of parents to me after I lost mine several years ago to a drunk driving accident. The only thing I haven’t enjoyed so much about the new environment is the constant heat! It’s nice to experience the beach for the first time & go on the weekends when there is time away from the stresses of life, but it actually gets outdated suddenly. The people I was with and I had to find the best heating & cooling plan for a overheated environment because it’s not the same thing as the Heating, Ventilation & A/C needs 1 would have up north where I’m from originally. Up there both of us needed the strongest oil furnace available for powerful Wintertide heating, but down here it’s much smarter to use a heat pump because it can be reversed for cooling purposes as well; The people I was with and I managed to find a great deal on a new heat pump by calling around to nearby Heating, Ventilation & A/C companies & asking for price quotes.
