I met our local fireplace rep at the store

I met our local fireplace rep at the store the other day when I was standing in line at the grocery store. I was waiting to check out and he was behind me reading one of the magazines in the check out stand. We started making small talk just because I was interested in one of the articles that was on the cover of the magazine, and we ended up talking about what we were doing for work that day. He told me that he works for our local fireplace center here in town, and I thought that was really interesting because I have been in the market for a new fireplace. Of course, then we started talking about gas log fireplaces versus wood burning fireplaces and how each one has its own pros and cons. He told me his thoughts on the subject and then he gave me his card so that I could come in and talk to him at the fireplace center and see what they have available. He also told me that he was a certified heating and cooling technician, which I thought was pretty interesting. Apparently, it’s a big plus to have HVAC training when you are a fireplace specialist working with gas logs and fireplace inserts. I did not even realize that this was the case. I realized that I felt better about having someone coming to work on a fireplace in my home if they had prior HVAC training and even an HVAC certification. I’m glad that I met him at the store, and I think I will go in and see him later on this week.
