The last time I rented a house there was a major issue with the central heating and air conditioning system. It worked, but it was very weak and needed to be replaced. I was not too happy with the landlord I had at the time because they were lazy as ever and took them 2 weeks to get the central heating and air conditioning system replaced! So in the meantime I was suffering with horrible air conditioning (it was summer). After a few days of this I got so fed up I nearly called a lawyer and broke my lease to get out of there, but the landlord kept insisting that he was going to get a brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system installed into the house. In the meantime I decided to take some action on my end and went out to buy a portable air conditioning system. The portable air conditioning system cost me four hundred bucks! I made sure and told the landlord about it and he took that off my next month rent. The portable air conditioning system got me through the 2 weeks until finally a brand new and up to date central heating and air conditioning system was arriving and being installed. I have to say that I never had seen all that went into heat and a/c installation before, so it was interesting to say the least. I still have that portable air conditioning system I bought, and it sometimes comes in handy today.
