I could not believe it when I realized today that the dial control unit I have that runs my central heating and a/c system is over 30 years old! And it is still working just as good today as when I obtained it over 3 decades ago.
This is the sign of wonderful craftsmanship and it also shows that a dial control unit may in fact be the best control unit around.
In my opinion I would say forget about all these stupid advanced forms of Heating and A/C technology that are all so complicated to older folks like me. Things like smart control units and even the typical digital control units. They may look and be futuristic or modern or even look cool to young folks. But they would never last 30 years! As a matter of fact from what I know, both smart control units and the typical digital control units have a lifespan of around 10 years if you are lucky. Because most die on you within 5 years and then it is time to buy a new one. With this old dial control unit I bet it will certainly last me the rest of my life and then still be alive even after I am long gone! That is what I truthfully know just based on the fact that it has lasted me over 30 years and still going just as strong today as it was back then. It is really unbelievable when you know about it. I am just so happy that I made the choice to get this dial control unit back then. I would not have had it any other way.
