I feel like it’s really easy to cool a space down compared to heating up a space.
I quickly realized this when I had a room in my house that needed extra heat and not air conditioning. There are tons of portable fans and ceiling fans on the market for cooling, but the options are limited with furnaces. There’s portable furnaces, but they seem dangerous to me. I don’t like the idea of plugging in something that heats to a high temperature and then sitting it on something. It sounds like a total fire hazard! I know there are a lot of furnaces out there that have a safety feature that shuts the furnace off when it becomes overheated, but I don’t trust it. I need the extra heat in my bedroom, especially while I sleep. The last thing I want to do is go to sleep with the portable furnace running and then wake up to a fire. I’ve read countless reviews about these furnaces on the market and most of them are excellent. I just can’t seem to relax about it though. I know if I purchase a heat source and put it beside my bed, I’ll spend all night lying awake because of stress and anxiety. I never have to worry about a ceiling fan or AC unit burning my house down. For now, I’m going to endure the chill in my bedroom and wait until I find something better. I may have to install a ductless unit just for the heat.
