I had convened three a/c workers plus myself.
The customer had been very vague on what the issue was. All he said was that his air conditioner had stopped working and before that the air quality had been very poor. When we got to the residence, we needed to first establish how old the system was. It was a fairly new air conditioning system since the air conditioner installation was done two years ago. The system was in a very bad state. Since the fitting was done, the customer had not scheduled for an a/c representative to run an air conditioning maintenance even once. No a/c repairs had been done on the system as well. I asked the customer whether he had been given an a/c care plan by the air conditioning company that did the fitting. He confirmed having the plan but not coming round to go through it. Having been forced to get a new a/c system, the customer was now willing to listen to some of the a/c care strategies that could be effective in maintaining the optimal function of the system. The first thing was to schedule an annual tune-up. I also advised him on the importance of running repairs for any arising issue to avoid it growing into a much more grave issue. A proper a/c service is essential to any system’s proper function. Though most of the work can only be done by experts, I illustrated how to change filters as he could do that on his own. The air conditioning supplier from the air conditioning business downtown would deliver the filters.
