My fiance and I went to the mountains to celebrate our engagement.
I took a couple of days off work, so we could go to the mountains and stay for a whole weekend, including Friday and Monday.
My fiance was extremely happy about the accommodations, especially when I told her that the cabin had a fireplace. My fiance and I traveled to the mountain lodge last weekend. The long and winding road up to the cabin was steep and treacherous. There was no shoulder on the right side of the road and it was a sheer drop from the top to the bottom. I was actually feeling a little bit nervous to drive us up the hill. Thankfully my fiance was a cheerleader. She made me feel like the drive was not a big deal. We arrived at the cabin and everything was ready for us to stay that weekend. The owner of the cabin had the bed made and the heat running. There was plenty of wood stacked by the fireplace along with a can that had kinlin, small twigs, and pieces of coconut husk. After we put our bags in the bedroom and settled down, I decided to make a fire. It took a couple of attempts to get something started, but once the fireplace was running, I didn’t let the fire go out at all during our four day adventure. A couple of nights, my fiance and I didn’t even sleep in the bedroom. We laid on the couch in front of the fireplace where it was warm and cozy.
