An old lodge that we booked last year had baseboard heating installed in it. Nathan thought it was pretty odd because he had not been inside a place with baseboard heating in such a long time. It felt so retro to him when he walked in and saw the baseboard heating set up on the walls in the lodge. It was a bit of a surprise, and he knew his young sister had no idea what it was. Nathan’s sister started asking him what the things were on the walls and he tried to explain to her that it was an old sort of heating method. His sister just looked at him like he was crazy. When Nathan turned the baseboard heating on, it started warming up in there fairly hastily and he told his sister not to touch the heating units because they can get entirely hot. It was interesting because it led them into a conversation about the history of heating systems inside of the homes in the country as well as throughout the rest of the world. That was an entirely odd conversation, but they ended up deciding that they love the high efficiency gas furnace method at home much better than the baseboard heating method that was at the lodge they were staying in.
