The thermostat kept changing on its own

Apparently, the power outage had reset the thermostat and so it was actually changing the temperature by itself

My family turned against each other last week whenever our thermostat kept changing all on its own. It actually ended up being funny at the end of the weekend when we figured out what the issue actually was. However, at the time, we were all mad at each other. The thermostat system is one of those that is programmable, and we had the thing figured out so that the schedule was just right. We really love the programmable thermostat and we have been saving a lot of money on our heating and cooling bills because of it. Anyway, last weekend, the air conditioning stopped working correctly and I thought that my husband had messed around with the thermostat. I fixed it and a couple of hours later I noticed that it was turned up again! That’s when I yelled at my husband and I told him to stop messing with the air conditioning. He said that it wasn’t him, so we both yelled at the kids. They said that they hadn’t touched the thermostat either. We were all turning against each other and we were all very annoyed and crabby because the house was really hot inside. We couldn’t figure out the problem until we remembered that the power had gone out the night before. Apparently, the power outage had reset the thermostat and so it was actually changing the temperature by itself. We laughed about it after we figured out what was going on. I didn’t even realize that this kind of thing could happen, but apparently it can.
