My wife and I would never consider going to the beach during the day, because it is too crowded.
The sun beats down on you; the sand reflects it back, and the sunburn can be debilitating. We prefer to go to the beach at night. We take our camper and hang outside, watching the stars and moon come up. It is peaceful, and although there are other campers, we can still have our privacy. We have air conditioning in our camper, which makes it more comfortable for sleeping. We spend a lot of time partying with other campers, but when it is time for bed, they go to their tents or campers. That’s when we turn the air conditioning on and relax. We have a window above our bed, and we can watch the shooting stars and the clouds as they roll across the night sky. In the morning, when the sun comes up, and it gets hot again, we head home. We have excellent air conditioning in our home and never worry about the heat and humidity. It’s nice being retired and able to sleep on the beach and spend the day in our home with the air conditioning. Last week, we didn’t even go to the beach. We curled up in the camper and spent the night under the stars, while having a slumber party with our grandchildren. We got little sleep since they wanted to play hide and seek and go swimming before going to bed. It was nearly 3 AM before they settled down and thought it was time for bed.
