One step into the hotel room was like directly walking into an ice wall.

• The temperature difference between this room and the hallway was tangible.

You could literally feel the cold seeping out of this room, even under the door. It is crazy. It was almost as if this room had never had a furnace system in it. Only it did, but the hotel room was not heated. I walked quickly inside, trying to avoid shivering, and immediately messed with the HVAC unit to turn on the heating. The buttons were sticky, and I had to press them hard for them to do anything. The colors were reversed as well, blue for some reason was for heating, and red was for cooling. I kept stabbing at the buttons hoping to heat up the room. Finally, I hit the right button and the heat began to fill the room. Finally, I turned on the heating machine. It didn’t take long before the heated air began to warm up the room. I was already feeling a good bit better. I couldn’t help but to wonder what psycho left the A/C on full blast like this, it was in the middle of winter! Everyone was using the furnace systems, so who in the world thought that it wasn’t cold enough, Elsa? After the room warmed up a good bit, I tucked myself into the hotel bed, and relaxed. I had a big day planned for tomorrow, and it was probably best that I got some rest for a while.

Once I make a schedule, I don’t really like to change it, but sometimes, change is necessary.

I was washing the dishes in my home when I suddenly heard my phone ringing.

I ran to answer it before it went silent, and when I answered, I was amazed to hear it was my old crush! His voice alone made my stomach fill with butterflies. We had such a thing going, and great chemistry to match. But he wanted to explore the world and travel to different countries. I had a family to take care of, my younger sibling is disabled and she needs daily care because of it. Not to mention, this was my hometown, and I couldn’t see myself ever living anywhere else. So he left, and I stayed. He called today to tell me he was back in town, and he was considering staying. This made my heart leap with joy! We arranged to see each other tomorrow, because he wanted to rest after a long drive. I looked at my schedule and noticed that I had a HVAC appointment for tomorrow, which was a little disappointing. I decided that I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity, and so I decided to reschedule the A/C appointment. I called the local A/C corporation, and I asked about rescheduling. Thankfully, they had another appointment at the same time, the very next day after tomorrow! This worked out perfectly, and I couldn’t help but wonder if the stars were aligning to get us together. I felt so hopeful and dreamy, now I need to find a nice outfit!

April has been windy and wet and muddy and stormy throughout just about the entire month.

It’s also been uncharacteristically cold for this time of year, which has kept me indoors quite a lot.

It wasn’t quite hot enough to be using the heating system heavily, but I sure was glad that I had heat and a warm and dry home as I gazed out and all the wind and rain. But now, in the last week of April, we have suddenly been hit with a sudden and drastic increase in temperatures. It caused me to finally switch my air conditioner system on, and I found to my dismay, that it was not working very well at all. The airflow was very weak and that got me quite worried. I didn’t quite want to have to call out an HVAC technician immediately, so I got to looking for some possible reasons why I might be getting such weak air flow. I finally got around checking the condenser unit outside, and I found my culprit. The condenser unit was caked with mud and debris and it was no wonder that my air conditioner was having serious issues. I immediately got to work hosing and scrubbing the poor thing off. I crossed my fingers as I once again tried to get the air conditioner running, and thankfully, the air flow and coolness was significantly better this time. Still, I knew that I would have to call out an HVAC technician soon! I’ll have to keep an eye on my condenser unit for now on.

I got a hotel room recently on vacation that was in a really nice area.

All of the usual accommodations were very nice.

The bed was big and comfortable. The view from the balcony was very nice. The bathroom was pristine and lavishly supplied. I had plenty of towels, a good brand of coffee for the morning and a few other things that I really appreciated. But of course I would have traded all of that nice stuff for a functional air conditioner! It was warm in my room. I kind of ignored this until I got settled, and then I checked the thermostat. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me why my room was not getting cooler. I could not believe that hotel staff would overlook something as integral to a customer’s comfort as a functional thermostat and/or air conditioning system! I decided to go right back down to the lobby to get help with my air conditioner. They sent someone up to check on it because they said that they’re really shouldn’t have been any issues with it. I begged to differ! Well it turns out that I was ultimately being rather silly. The person they sent up with me to fix the air conditioner problem took a look at the thermostat for a minute. He then pushed a single button and air started surging through the vents shortly after that. Of course, all I could ask is what he did, and he simply replied that he turned the thermostat from “fan” to “cool”. I could only embarrassingly ask him why it was not set to cool in the first place and he apologized and said that the previous occupant must have left it on the fan setting and the hotel staff overlooked it.

Last summer, I had a lot of complaints about the operation of the air conditioner.

It seemed to run just about non stop & yet the home felt slightly boiling, however certain rooms were especially hot & sticky.

The air coming from the vents had a musty stink, & there was an excessive amount of dust & allergens circulating in the air. My yearly energy bills were much higher than normal. When I observed that my kids started to sneeze every time the air conditioner ran & realized that I was constantly suffering from headaches, I busy professional repair. The worker evaluated the inner workings of the AC & found no complications. I am conscientious about replacing air filters & arranging seasonal repair for the cooling unit. The worker then diagnosed the ductwork & discovered that approximately twenty percent of the cooled air was leaking out through holes & gaps at the seams. He explained that these flaws in the ductwork were also drawing in contaminants & spreading them throughout the house, but because the maximum amount of cooled air wasn’t reaching the intended endpoint, the air conditioner was forced to toil harder & longer. The worker recommended duct sealing. I was a bit worried that the repair would require chopping holes in walls & ceilings to access the concealed pipes. However, the worker used a process called Aeroseal that fixes ductwork imperfections from the inside. It involves sending highly pressurized air laced with polymer particles into the duct system. These particles are adhesive & stick to edges of the numerous holes as the air escapes. They steadily build up to form a tight seal.
